Mission & History
Mission
Our mission is to connect, educate, and support the international Bloom syndrome community and stimulate research that leads to longer, healthier lives.
History
The Bloom Syndrome Association was founded in 2012 by Paul and Susan Zaslaw of Hanover, New Hampshire. Paul & Susan’s daughter was born in 2004 and diagnosed with Bloom syndrome prior to her first birthday. In 2008, the Zaslaws attended the first ever Bloom syndrome patient & family and research conferences in Chicago and wanted to ensure that the synergies from Chicago would be sustained through continued collaboration between Bloom syndrome families and researchers.
