Dr. Lisa L. Wang is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She serves as the Director of the Bone Tumors Program and Clinical Leader of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wang has a special interest in bone sarcomas both as a clinician and as a translational researcher. Her research has focused on the understanding the role of the RECQL4 gene pathway in pathogenesis of osteosarcoma through the study of Rothmund-Thomson syndrome (RTS), a genetic disorder in a related gene family as Bloom syndrome. RTS is considered a cancer predisposition syndrome as well as a disorder of aging, and it shares overlapping clinical features with Bloom syndrome. Dr. Wang established the RTS Patient and Family Registry at Baylor College of Medicine and has published widely on the clinical aspects and management of RTS.
